Our Story
It started after a director told us, “That style isn’t marketable.” He meant a dancer whose movement broke tradition. She was 6’1”, magnetic, and moved like a storm. We walked out.
That same night, we sketched Aurenza on a napkin, reserved a stage, and reached out to every performer we knew whose voice, steps, or presence had ever been called “unusual.”
It began when someone said, “Audiences won’t understand this.” They meant a performance too bold to fit tradition. She was 6’1”, magnetic, and her presence filled the room. We refused to accept that.
That very night, we named it Aurenza, sketched the idea on a napkin, and called every artist we knew whose movement, voice, or vision had ever been called “too different.””
