Urban Spree
Urban Spree is one of Berlin’s most celebrated cultural institutions. Founded by Pascal Feucher and Kolja Ulbrich and housed in a repurposed railway depot on Revaler Straße in Friedrichshain, the 1,700m² complex sits within the iconic RAW Gelände and draws visitors from across the world. At its heart is an independent contemporary art gallery dedicated to urban, street, and contemporary art, with a rotating programme of exhibitions featuring local and international artists. Surrounding it: a sprawling 900m² Biergarten, a concert room hosting everything from psych-rock to electronic music, artist residencies, DIY workshops, an art store, and a building facade that functions as a permanent, ever-changing canvas for the world’s leading street artists.
Urban Spree is as much a destination as it is a gallery. But for collectors and artists who can’t make it to Berlin, the gallery has always been harder to reach than the work deserves.
How Urban Spree uses Kukan
Urban Spree uses its Conversational3D™ tour to extend the gallery’s reach far beyond Friedrichshain, serving four distinct goals:
- Global art sales — international collectors can explore current exhibitions in photorealistic 3D, experience works in the context of the gallery space, and purchase directly, 24 hours a day
- Living archive — each exhibition is captured as a permanent digital record, allowing art to continue being discovered and sold long after the works have come down from the walls
- Artist preview — artists considering exhibiting at Urban Spree can explore the gallery in detail, understanding exactly how their work will sit in the space before committing
- Venue discovery — visitors considering a trip to Urban Spree can explore not just the gallery but the Biergarten and concert venue, turning online curiosity into a reason to visit
